Every Child Has a Name

On September 3rd in Vermanes Park from 12:00 until 16:00, for the first time, an extraordinary and important memorial event occured – the names of all the children killed during the Holocaust in Latvia were read aloud. During these years, approximately 16,000 Jewish children perished in Latvia. Our intention in speaking their names aloud is to return the children to this world and not allow them to be lost or forgotten. This event will become an annual one and will occur each first Friday of September. They also could go to school.
